| Michaela Quinn
answers an ad for a medical doctor for the small town of Colorado
Springs. When she arrives, she is dismayed to find out that they
expected a Michael A. Quinn. However, she is determined to stay
and tries to begin her medical practice. She makes friends with a
woman named Charlotte Cooper who runs the boarding house. She is
given the use of an old homestead by a mountain man named Byron
Sully. Later, when Charlotte is bitten by a rattle snake, she
promises the dying woman to look after her three children. Thus
begins a new life as Michaela struggles to look after three
children and establish a medical practice in her own clinic while
romance blossoms with Sully.
