Group History

The 1st Burra Scout Group was granted its Certificate of Registration by the Chief Commissioner of New South Wales, Bruce Munro, on the twenty-fifth of June, 1986.

Our Group's scarf, consisting of a 6-millimetre wide bottle green edging on a black scarf, was registered on the fourteenth of June, 1986.

The Inaugural Group Committee meeting was held on Tuesday, 3 December 1985, at the Burra Community Hall. It was at this meeting that the first Group Committee positions were filled and a plan for the establishment of a Cub Pack and a Scout Troop was developed.

The first Scout Troop meeting was held on Wednesday, 26 February 1986 and went from 7.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m.

The first Scout Troop consisted of 15 boys and they were all invested on the same night, 16 April 1986.

The first Cub Pack was held on Thursday, 27 February 1986 that went from 7.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m.

The first Cub Pack also consisted of all boys, 6 of them, and they were invested on 17 April 1986.
