Bleeding Heart
By:  Matt Ferraro

There she sat, so cool, so sweet
So close I could feel her heat.
A close friend, and a far-off lover.
Maybe in another life or a dream. . .
Then maybe I felt the passionate steam.
Now all I can do is scream!
From all that I do and say. . .
Am I seen?
Am I heard?
A not so innocent affair when another feels pain.
Drugs and sex,
What a mix?
Like walking on a bridge of sticks,
One false step and then your gone.
Just another of life's useless pawns.
Betrayal felt and hope is lost.
Infinite the pain of being tossed!
Ignorance takes the blame,
But who really touched that flame?
Walking away my head hung in shame,
So sick of this stupid, stupid game. . .
Called Love!
