My Abyss 101001

I cast a long black shadow

That reaches all the way

To my beginnings

Its perfect darkness

Grips all of the things

That I have once done.

Every time

                   I take

                             A step

                                        Forward

It grows

              One step

                             Longer

It’s corruption

Follows me

All of my

Memories

Swim this shadow

Its inky depths

                         Swallow

The few good ones I have

It’s sad to see

Such light before me

Because it is to know

Soon it will be behind me

Absorbed into my Abyss
