The two met in the 21st century kinda way. On the Internet! Adam had Kim on her buddy list, and was curious to know who she was. He messaged her and the rest was history.
They were friends for about a month, and later started dating September 4, 2002 after they both confessed that they had strong feelings toward one another. It almost didn't work out in the beginning because they weren't sure how the relationship was going to last with Adam being in the Marine Corps and being stationed in Japan.
But they didn't give up. After 2 months of dating long-distance and never seeing each other, Adam planned to visit for 3 weeks in November 2002 for Kimberly's 21st birthday. He flew 7500 miles from Iwakuni, Japan to Orlando, Florida to meet the love of his life for the first time on November 16, 2002.
They have been together ever since, facing a military and long-distance relationship... soon to end with a wedding of their dreams on June 21, 2003. |
