These are three generations of VC that we captured attempting to set an explosive device on the railroad tracks on base property (Grandfather, Father, 17 year old son). We turned them over to the Vietnamese Army Intelligence where they reportedly "died during interrogation"

ORIGINAL CADRE, Phu Cat Air Base, 1966 to 1967

On August 1, 1966, Captain Robert M. Sullivan, 53 Air Policemen, and a contingent of 554CES and 555CES personnel from Phan Rang and Cam Ranh Bay set up camp adjacent to a Buddhist cemetery on what would become Phu Cat Air Base. Little is known or written about this original group of personnel and their contribution to Phu Cat Air Base.
