VALENTINE'S
DAY
by Firesword
It
was Wednesday, and it was Valentine's Day. Harry calmly wove through
the crowd of Slytherins who were on their way to the Great Hall. As he
descended, students greeted him every second and he sighed once he
stood safely on the landing. Then he walked to Severus' office and
stared at the door for a second.
"Good morning," a silky voice whispered into his ear, and Harry jumped.
"Bloody
hell, Severus. Don't do that!" Harry hissed. His heart was racing in
his chest and the sensation of Severus' breath on his neck earlier was
sending a thrill of excitement throughout his system.
Severus
cocked his head to one side and looked at him with a faint smile. Then
he made a movement, as though he wanted to touch Harry. The
emerald-eyed wizard cursed under his breath when the Potions Master
missed him deliberately to turn the doorknob. Harry went in and before
he could curse his lover for teasing him, Severus had caught his lips.
A warm, wet tongue slid on his lower lip, and Harry's mouth parted. He
shivered as he felt Severus' tongue brushed against his own, and
tightened his arms that were around Severus's waist.
"Happy
Valentine's Day," Harry murmured once they broke the kiss. He stared up
into the black eyes of his lover that looked intense.
"I love you, Harry," Severus replied.
"Severus, you're supposed to respond with 'Happy Valentine's Day',"
Harry said before he started to chuckle.
"You,
obnoxious, Gryffindor brat," Severus muttered. Harry laughed but it
faded as his lover's fingers ran through his hair, rested against his
neck, and pulled him forward for another passionate kiss.
"I'm not a brat anymore, Severus," Harry gasped.
"To me, you will always be. My obnoxious, Gryffindor lover."
Harry grinned widely. "Come on, Severus. It's time for breakfast."
"You
should have not insisted on..." Severus paused, and Harry chuckled when
he noticed the slight tinge of red on the Potions Master's face.
"Okay, okay. It was my fault for making you stay in bed. But ... I
couldn't help myself," Harry said with a sheepish smile.
"I wonder what you see in me, Harry." Severus looked at him seriously.
"Stop thinking that you're too old to be appreciated that way,"
Harry interjected firmly. "Come on, Severus. Let's have breakfast --
I'm hungry."
-oOooOooOo-
Severus
stopped Harry while they were on the staircase. He frowned slightly,
but he could not control his blushes. An image of Harry in between his
legs flashed in his mind and he coughed uncomfortably. "Harry, next
time, wake me before you do that again."
Harry chuckled and
leaned closer. "But isn't it wonderful to wake up and suddenly realize
that you're inside a mouth?" Harry whispered into his ear.
"Harry..." Severus groaned.
They
resumed their way to the Great Hall, and Severus noticed that there
were many couples walking around, holding each other's hands. He was
about to bark at them for improper behavior when Harry tugged at his
sleeve urgently.
"What?" he asked. Harry did not reply but kept
tugging at his robe. Severus scowled and looked in the direction where
Harry was staring. His mind went blank. Severus saw the hurt expression
on the aquiline face before it disappeared and a blank mask replaced it.
"Attention,
students and staff of Hogwarts," a loud voice boomed throughout the
castle. "As it is Valentine's Day and the day that my dear colleague,
Professor Flitwick, steps down from his position as Head of Ravenclaw
and Charms professor, I am quite ecstatic to say that your teachers
have agreed to not have any classes today."
The students cheered and squealed happily.
"Instead, we are going to Hogsmeade!"
"I did not agree to this," Severus muttered, for once taking
his eyes of Draco Malfoy to glower at a group of delighted students.
"You should know the Headmaster better than me, Severus. It's just his
way. But why is he here, however?"
"And
before I let you off to make yourselves presentable for your respective
dates, may I introduce someone who will be taking Professor Flitwick's
position as a Charms professor? Everyone, please welcome Professor
Draco Malfoy!"
What in Merlin's name?
"Severus, can we go somewhere and talk for a bit. Please, before Draco
--"
He
did not wait for Harry to finish. Two minutes later, they were back in
his office. While Severus made sure to lock the door and cast Silencing
Charms around the office, Harry had begun pacing.
"Damn ... did you see how hurt he looked when he saw me with you?"
Harry inquired worriedly.
"I thought it was how hurt he looked when he saw that I was with you,"
Severus corrected. "I thought he liked you."
"I thought I remember him telling me that he likes you," Harry said,
somewhat fiercely. Then he blinked. Then he sat down on Severus' desk,
and stared into the thin air.
Severus himself leaned against his door, and tapped a finger
thoughtfully on his lips. "He said 'no' to me."
"He said 'no' to me."
"But he was interested, yes?"
"That's what I thought."
"He's denser than I thought."
"I thought he was a little more adventurous as well."
"He wants us both?"
"I think so."
Severus smiled wickedly. "So what are we going to do about it?"
"Let's trap him. Madam Rosmerta's chocolate cake. With a lot of
chocolate flakes."
-oOooOooOo-
Harry
used magic to find where Draco was hiding. It had fallen to Harry to
approach Draco to invite him to Hogsmeade, since his unpredictable
nature would ensure that Draco would be less suspicious of his
intentions. However, Harry doubted Draco was foolish enough not to
suspect that Harry might be in cohorts with Severus. He paused before
Flitwick's office, and knocked on it briefly. Draco opened the door.
"Oh. Where's Flitwick?" Harry asked after a quick peek into the room.
"He left, with McGonagall." Draco stared at him. "What are you doing
here?"
Harry shrugged. "I teach as well."
"Defense? I should have known."
"If
you had known, will you accept the teaching position?" Harry asked,
raising his eyebrow. Draco did not reply but he went on to unpack his
belongings. "Leave it. Let's go to Hogsmeade."
"I can't. Too many things to do," Draco replied in a preoccupied voice.
"We're
not going to have classes tomorrow. Severus will be extremely pissed
off when he finds out about it, but it is his fault for not coming to
yesterday's get-together in the staff room last night." As he hoped,
Draco looked confused. "Come on, Draco. Let's go to the Three
Broomsticks and have a bit of chocolate cake. I'll tell you about
Dumbledore's plans for this week."
Draco looked at him for a minute before nodding. "All right."
So while Draco was wearing his outer robes, Harry stepped outside and
sent a silver message to Severus. I hope he interprets it correctly.
They
went to Hogsmeade by way of carriage, and Harry groaned, after he saw
the crowd before the door to Madam Rosmerta's tavern. "Draco, wait
here. I'll see if there's space." He jumped off the stagecoach.
"That's not fair."
"What's wrong?" Harry asked the witch who looked frustrated.
"Students aren't allowed until lunch."
Harry
smiled. "It's a bit early to enjoy anything here, right? Why don't you
guys go to Honeydukes and have a great time first before coming here?"
"Professor
Potter is kind of right," another student said thoughtfully. "Why don't
we enjoy the things from Honeydukes and that shop? Taverns are for more
grown-up people -- don't you think we'll regret for not exploring the
other shops when we grow up?"
"You have a point. Let's go. Thanks, Professor!"
Harry shook his head and entered the tavern.
"Harry!"
a voice called him and he grinned broadly when Madam Rosmerta hugged
him suddenly. "Where's Severus? I assume you want that room again?"
"Severus is coming in later. Yes, I need a room. Draco's here," Harry
informed her.
"Are you pulling my leg? Then what about Severus?" She looked surprised.
"Do you remember what you told me when I came here before I graduated?"
"Oh
yes," Madam Rosmerta said drily. "I think it was: 'It's a shame you are
not open-minded enough for a three-way relationship'."
Harry
snorted. "I didn't understand what you meant at that time, you know.
Now, I do." Madam Rosmerta gasped and Harry looked out the window.
Draco was stepping out of the carriage. "It turns out Draco likes us
both, and rejected us both, because he thought he could only have one.
Well, Severus and I want him. Any ideas?"
Madam Rosmerta swore
creatively, and Harry looked at her in alarm. However, although she was
swearing, she was grinning at the same time. "Well, good for you! It'd
be interesting if you can remain a permanent threesome. Anyway, you can
have the usual room, and I'll bring up Draco's favorite cake. How does
that sound? And extra chocolate flakes, I presume?"
"You can read my mind. Thanks."
"No problem, Harry. What do you want for a drink though? Wine?"
"Bad idea. I haven't eaten breakfast. Maybe chocolate or coffee," Harry
said quickly.
"All right, Harry. I'd better get started. You bring Draco in."
Harry
nodded and stepped out. Then he beckoned at Draco, who then sauntered
toward him leisurely. The silvery-blonde wizard looked at him
expectantly. "They have a room. Come on."
Draco froze and Harry stared at him curiously. "Room?"
"I thought we ought to have a nice, private chat," Harry said, and his
green eyes twinkled deviously.
"Harry, I don't--"
"Come
on, Draco. I'm hungry. I have already ordered your favorite cake."
Without caring what the people in the tavern would say, Harry took hold
of Draco's hand and led the other professor up into the private dining
room. Madam Rosmerta appeared a few minutes later, with what Harry had
ordered, plus several additional dishes. "Thank you," Harry thanked the
witch gratefully. "Oh, when Severus comes in--"
"I know, Harry." Madam Rosmerta left the room, and closed the door
behind her quietly.
"Severus?" Draco said softly. "He's joining us?"
"Yes,
Draco. I'm with Severus now, so it is only polite if I ask him to be
with us." Harry smiled inwardly when he saw the flicker of guilt and
bitterness in the pair of gray eyes. "And I don't care if you still
like him, or he likes you, but what really matters is that I am
Severus'." He watched as Draco clenched his jaws.
Harry poured
some hot chocolate for Draco and himself, before slicing the cake into
several equal pieces. "About tomorrow, we're not going to have any
lessons. In fact, we will not have any lessons until next Monday.
Dumbledore thinks we need some time-out -- he has planned for a
teacher-student Quidditch match on Thursday."
"Is he mad?" Draco's eyes widened.
"I don't know," Harry said with a slight smile. "But just between the
two of us, don't you want to see Severus on a broom?"
"How long have you two been together?" Draco asked quietly.
"I
was his since seventh year." Harry saw the flash of anger in Draco's
eyes. "I was not two-timing you, damn it. And we just talked -- nothing
physical. But after graduation, we got serious."
"I thought you were undergoing some training with Shacklebolt."
"Yes,
I was. However, I still had off-days, and I used them to see Severus.
My training's supposed to finish late this month, but Shacklebolt
released me early and I thought I could surprised Severus by becoming a
teacher." Harry set his plate down and dragged his chair so he could be
nearer to Draco. Then he took Draco's plate and fork away from the
wizard.
"Harry, I was going to eat that," Draco said through gritted teeth.
"I know," Harry answered calmly.
"What in the hell are you doing? I can eat myself!"
"Stop
talking and eat," Harry said flatly, and fed Draco. It felt nostalgic,
as Harry remembered the time when Draco was injured and was not able to
feed himself. He studied Draco intently, who seemed to be lost in his
own thoughts. "I still love you, I guess," Harry whispered. He set
Draco's plate back on the table and stood up. Then he knelt before
Draco, and cupped the Slytherin's face. "Do you know what prompted me
to sit by your side that time and took that bowl away from you?" Draco
shook his head. "It was the fact that I cared, but I don't really know
how to express myself with words. And I still don't."
Harry
brought himself up slightly, and although he wanted to kiss Draco on
the lips, he chose to kiss Draco's forehead instead. Then Harry
embraced the other wizard. "You hurt me so much. But I didn't know how
to tell you how much it had hurt when you said no."
"I guess I'm the one who loses the most," Draco murmured against his
shoulder. Harry smiled when he heard a soft rustle.
"Are you cheating on me, Harry?" asked a quiet voice.
"How
can I cheat on you?" Harry asked sarcastically. "I was greeting him."
He released Draco and stood up. Then he moved out of the way, so that
Severus could give Draco a greeting of his own. He grinned when Severus
swooped down on the hapless wizard. "And you ask me if I was cheating
on you," Harry muttered as he witnessed Severus kissing Draco rather
hungrily. Severus glared at him when he pulled away from Draco. "At
least I have the courtesy to wait until you're in the room to do
anything."
Harry calmly pushed Severus away and pressed himself against Draco.
"Harry, what are you doing?"
"I'm
starting a fire," he said before capturing Draco's slightly, swollen
lips. He opened his eyes briefly, and saw that Severus had sat on the
couch. The Potions Master had taken off his cloak and was now
unbuttoning his collar, all the while staring at Harry and Draco. Harry
pulled Draco up and pushed him gently on Severus. Then Harry squeezed
himself in between Draco's legs and kissed the silver-haired wizard
again.
"Tell me something, Draco," Harry murmured against
Draco's mouth as he watched Severus licking the side of Draco's neck.
"Are you afraid of this? That you may actually enjoy it?"
"Obviously,"
Draco muttered, and then he gasped. The sound went straight to Harry's
groin and Harry involuntarily thrust forward, against Draco's thigh.
"Ah.
I think it is rather naughty myself," Harry agreed. He exchanged a
quick look with Severus, who nodded briefly. Harry smiled crookedly,
and while Draco was a little preoccupied, he unbuttoned Draco's shirt.
"I thought we were going to have breakfast."
"Shhhh."
