Acting 2 provides the student with techniques for and experience in analyzing and presenting a modern text for the stage. The emphasis of the class will be primarily the process of rehearsal and performance; the student, therefore, will be provided many opportunities to prepare, rehearse, and present disciplined work to the class. The students will use techniques developed by Constintin Stanislavsky as a basis for presenting work written during the modern era of drama.
The student will be responsible for maintaining and completing a portfolio that will include an acting journal, performance critiques, written responses to assigned readings, as well as related research and acting analysis. Each student is required to participate in or attend a performance of the FHS fall play as well as two other productions during the course of the semester. A reasonable alternative may be arranged at the discretion of the instructor. |
