My List of Great Bands

This page is filled with bands you should be listening to. Upon reading this list, you should immediately suspend what you are doing and follow the links to each band. You should do this because I say so. These bands deserve it. Go now! Hurry!
Savatage - If you know me, then you know this is my favorite band EVER. Their album 'Streets' is in my opinion, the finest piece of music ever produced.

Dream theater -Second only to Savatage to me, DT is considered the ELITE in the progressive metal world. From their "Scenes From a Memory" masterpiece to the thunderous "Train of Thought", this band defines 'talent'.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra
- Rising from amidst the ranks of Savatage, TSO has become more and more succesful with each passing year. Their magnificent ability to tint classical music with heavy metal overtones has reached well beyond the more elite audience of Savatage. TSO is truly impressive live- don't miss it if you have the chance to see them!!

Nightwish -One of Finland's finest exports, a classic/power metal band blessed with the tremendous voice of the beautiful Tarja Tarunen. They're touring the US finally in 2004!! I'll be there. You should be too.

GWAR
-Blistering, ear-bleeding metal with the most far-fetched stage act ever. This band is not for the timid. I've never heard anyone louder or had more fun at a concert. 3 Times, soon to be 4! If you don't mind being covered in blood and other bodily fluids, see them.

In Flames -The Gothenburg sound. The Swedish scene. I wasn't overly familiar with it until I decided to see what the fuss was about. Enter In Flames, melodic death/thrash metal. This band kicks more ass than all the US nu metal bands combined.  "Clayman" is a MUST HAVE album along the lines of "Appetite for Destruction" or "Vulgar Display of Power."

Lacuna Coil -Italy's entry on my list. Ignore the BS comparisons with Evanescence. This band is the real deal (and they've been around a lot longer!!) I love their albums, but they really shine live, and they have been getting their due in the US, finally. (except, of course, in Indiana) Cristina Scabbia vs Amy Lee? Not a Contest. Check my page out HERE

Iced Earth -Ok, I admit,  I've only been listening to them a few years. I took a chance and bought "Something Wicked" and loved it. But there is nothing that can prepare you for "The Glorious Burden." Iced Earth had obtained the displaced Ripper Owens on vocals and its to their credit. This album is incredible!! Of particular note is the 3-song Gettysburg CD, which deserves my highest regards. This IS as good as music gets.
