Even though we were able to send many cards, we are still trying to catch up with everyone.  Here are some fun photos of the past year.  We were able to cram a lot in to a short summer.  With several weeks in Italy and some camping trips afterwards, we feel pretty lucky.  We hope that you have a great Holiday Season,  and that 2005 brings excitement and good times to you and your family!!

Italian Family Vacation!
St. Peter's Dome
The Amalfi coast, in Southern Italy is near the city of Pompei.  A side-trip to the ancient ruins of Pompeii was like a trip back in time.  There we had a photo under the shadow of mount Vesuvius, still rumbling in the background.
The Amalfi Coast on the Mediterranean Sea.  Small towns cling impossibly to the cliffs and valleys. Our choice of transportation was by ferry.  The bus tour followed a single road, which also clings to the cliffsides.  At least we could jump from the ferry if we needed to.
Roma

Back to Rome, where we went on many walking tours with Val's cousin, Fr. Ed Popish.  He is on assignment in Rome for several years, so we thought that he would enjoy a visit. Ed took us on daily, or nightly trips through the streets of Roma, through ruins, churches, and his favorite secret places.  We drank from fountains everywhere, which are still fed by Roman Aquaducts from miles away.  On Wednesday morning, we attended the Popes audience at St. Peter's Square, below.  We visited the Basilica and the Vatican Museum.
Rafting trip through Westwater Canyon, UT.

Heather went to Prom with a group of Cheerleaders, and their lucky escort, Harrison.
Alan went backpacking south of Aspen to climb the ridge of Cathedral Peak, Castle Peak, and Electric Pass this past summer.

Venezia
Vaporetto water buses took us along the grand canal.  Walking the streets, which were sometimes 4' wide was dark and interesting.  There are no cars on the island.   Venice is one the most beautiful cities, ever!  If you go to Italy, include it on your list!
Heather and the Tuscan countryside below  Boboli Gardens.
Camping and biking with Claude and Michelle near Monarch Pass, CO.
Val and Liz on a camping trip to Lake Powell.
Karen came to visit and brought her friend Ruth.  Ruth's first trip to Colorado was a grand tour, including a raft trip through Glenwood Canyon, a trip to Colorado National Monument. We spent a day at Piney and Lost Lakes, near Vail..
