POSE EXAMPLES

DANE POSE

This is the standard dane pose. It is the most popular pose. The head is held high with only one eye and one ear visible. The chest is puffed out and the legs are square beneath the body and together. The tail is nicely curved over the back. Out of the original breeds, Dalmation, Mutts, and Labradors are the only dogz who generally pose differently, as seen below....

DALI POSE

This is the Dali Pose, used most frequently by dalmations. The pose is much the same as the dane throughout the body, legs together, tail curved, etc. In this pose, however, the head faces towards the viewer. The eyelids should be relaxed, not angry looking nor wide open *when the eyes are wide it looks as if they are frightened*. The muzzle should be straight on, neither too high or too low but centered.

You may choose between these two poses no matter what breed your dog is when entering the open show, it is your preference.

POODLE POSE

This is the Poodle Pose. It is terribly difficult to get a poodle to pose correctly in the dane or dali pose. They are much too haughty and stuck up. The poodle is laying down with its front paws laying together, or crossed over one another. Only one hind leg should be seen. The head should be tilted upward and the eyes should be open. It is best to see as little of the outer eye as possible.
