"A Silent Dream"
Silence whispers sorrow to the heart that cries, Dreams falter and wither before my eyes. A hope is all but that, when we dream, Reality tells us nothing when the silence screams. Beyond the crystal vision within our heart, It leads us to the end before we start. We stammer ever briefly before we fall, The depth of disappointment is the iron wall. Below the new horizon when we finally breathe, Anger and resentment are the things we sheathe. Love and dedication seemed to escalate, But fear and love uncertain sealed its fate. The ending of a notion as a life it dies, Like a tear within the wind, it quickly dries. It's carried to the heavens, as a gift returned, Another lonely lesson that the mortals learn. Awaken in the darkness, not a word to say, We both move on in silence to another day. Across the great abyss my love I send, As you're ever loving partner and your faithful friend.
Wishing from a distance, but within my heart, That once again you give the chance for love to start. For time will break the silence, and you're heart will fall, Break down the structure of your mighty wall. And as the cinders of the fire slowly die, I watch in trepidation with a tearful eye. I turn to face the future with a broken dream, I walk away in silence. Jerry Williams July 28,2002
