4 Wins in a Row....is all well in Raptorland ???

The past few days have been an exciting time for all Raptor fans.  Antonio Davis and his constant pouting are gone, and in his place we have three players who seem happy and rejuvenated in their new environment. Marshall's three consecutive 20 point games have raised expectations drastically.  Wake up folks....  This is a team 4 games over .500.  They are fourth in their division which makes them the current 5 seed.  The 5 seed starts the playoffs on the road, and for those of you that have been paying any attention to this team, you will know that the Raptors are terrible on the road.  As at last night this team was 4-6 on road, with only 2 of those wins coming against team that currently hold down one of the Eastern Conference play off positions, and just as many losses coming against teams not in the playoff picture, if they started today.

Payroll is not the issue for this team, nor is the MLSE basketball operations.  Several of our devout readers have suggested that we re-direct our efforts and focus more on MLSE rather then Glen Grunwald.  Well you are entitled to your opinions, but here at firegrunwald.com we say "shake your head man".  Once we've beaten down MLSE, I think we should overthrow a small country in Central America.  It won't happen, nor do we feel that MLSE is responsible for this mess, on the basketball side of the operations.  One man, and only one man is, Glen Grunwald

For the doubters that still exist.  Here is but a few additional examples of why Grunwald must go :

In the 1999 NBA Draft, with their 2nd pick in the first round, the Toronto Raptors selected Aleksanadar Radojevic.  Great pick, just fantastic.  He played all of 100 minutes for the Raptors.  Sure they traded him to Denver, which only proves that their are less skilled in the NBA then Glen Grunwald, but let's see who else was available.

*     Corey Maguette

*     Ron Artest

*     Andrei Kirilenko

Despite what any of you think about these players, no one reading this can deny that they have not produced more than Radojevic.

This is not a one time blip on the radar for Grunwald, just two years later, the Raptors drafted Michael Bradley with the 17th pick over all. Some of the players that were still available were:

*     Zach Randolph

*     Brandan Haywood

*     Jamaal Tinsley

*     Tony Parker

Now I don't expect Grunwald to have to understand the European talent pool. In order for me to have that expectation, I would have to assume that this manger places any emphasis on players outside of North America.  Glen just a small hint for you.  Nearly one in 5 players in the NBA today is foreign born.

Too many mistakes and too many missed opportunities, by Grunwald, are the sole reason why this team is in the position it is in.  Fans don't kid yourselves this team is not as good as it's emotional play would indicate over the past few games.  We will not make 17 - 3 pointers a night.

The door of opportunity is still available to this team  One, just one more change can make all the difference, it's just a shame that our GM does not realize it.

Thank You
