I wonder sometimes how the country hasn't gone to hell in a handbasket yet. I mean, I talk to people that would well send us back to the stone age, and they VOTE. That scares me soo much. To think that the rest of the world identifies me with people that I�d probably be rather happy if they died�.minus the whole people dying is �bad�. This came up because I was reading stuff on this aol message board they set up about gas guzzling SUVs. The thing was everyone seemed to miss a lot of the points and continue to make their own over and over again, ignoring everyone else who was doing the exact same thing resulting in a huge pile of identical posts. There were a pretty good amount of people that were complaining because they damn well needed their SUVs, and they didn�t see what the big deal was. So then people pointed out that that�s not what the protesters were aiming at. But then someone new would post it in a different post and the cycle would continue, yadda yadda yadda�.the only reason why some people label SUVs as unpatriotic is because so many people don�t actually use them for what they�re meant for. It�s one thing if you haul hay and horses. It�s quite another if you drive yourself to work in stop and go traffic everyday in it. What those people should really do is buy a nice little economy car instead of a huge status symbol. Even better, protesters should just generally protest against excessive use of gas as opposed to SUVs in general. Obviously we need gas. I mean, come on, you can�t deny that. So use less of it if you don�t need that much power! What would be even better is if more hybrid cars come out. They even have hybrid trucks and SUVs in the works that would use waaaaay less gas. If we all had hybrid cars we�d be using so much less gas that it wouldn�t even be much of an issue. Hybrid technology has been around for longer that you�d think, but the opposition of American companies that are big on oil have kept it from becoming mainstream earlier. THAT would combat terrorists more than anything, and take some of the umph out of Bush�s War on People He Doesn�t Particularly Like. That�s all it really is. Iraq �allegedly� has biological weapons and maybe, MAYBE has some sort of primitive nuclear capabilities. North Korea has openly defied treaty after treaty and is developing nuclear weapons, but we�re trying to reach yet another treaty with them. Look at their fucking track record and that�s the stupidest idea in the world. Ignoring the threat would save money and time in fact, since they�d continue working on them anyway. But nooo, we�re gonna go to war with Iraq and try and negotiate a treaty with North Korea. What kind of fucking sense does that make? Tons if you look at what bush�s motives really are. War=popularity. No war=American people find out how stupid and inept and what a pawn he really is. Plus, war=oil=profits for oil companies. I�ve even read a few things in the paper about how maybe oil should be taken from Iraq as part of the spoils of war. HELLO can you be any more absolutely obvious about your aims there. And even worse, most people are buying it. It makes me ashamed to be an American sometimes. Well, a lot of times. Plus people�s equating of liberals with pansy ass tree huggers who blame everyone else for their problems. But you know what�s ironic they then blame the liberals for THEIR problems. Great logic there. I mean, I don�t equate conservative with bible thumping anti abortionist war mongering big corporation Bush-loving assholes, though many of them are. So, in conclusion (if there was any coherent thread here�) I drive a little kia spectra and love it. I�m not wasting gas or space, and I�ll get a hybrid car probably after I graduate from college and can afford one. And Bush is a dumbass. Ahh, some phrases explain every problem. And the American people for the most part stupid materialistic fat and lazy. So they buy into what Bush�s administration tells them. Thank god I�ll be able to vote in the next election�I�m voting for whoever�s not bush, I�ll tell you that. He could be Satan and I�d be campaigning for him. Actually that�d be great fun. Well, I can only hope�
