Sonnet of the Halloween Candy

A month at least had passed since Halloween
The day my sister opened her desk drawer.
Her candy wasn't there - it should have been.
Well, some was, but there should have been much more.

She'd saved it to enjoy throughout the year.
My brother, on the other hand, consumed
His bag before November third was near,
And thus his greedy need for chocolate bloomed.

He'd eaten all the candy from her room
And vowed he'd make it up to her someday.
She promptly sentenced him to certain doom,
But in the end forgave him anyway.

On anger that she felt she'd closed the door,
For their relationship was worth much more.
