"Forget this!" Rial exclaims. "I'm outta here. I can take another night in the woods." He walks to the door, muttering about room fees and extortion. "Well?" he asks, standing in the doorway. "Who's with me?"

The rest of you look at each other. Merlyn shrugs. "It is an awfully high price for a room," she says.

"If we leave, can we spend our money on food instead?" you ask, as you head for the door.

"All right...as long as you guys are sure..." Deke says, and follows the rest of you out.

So you find yourselves again out on the city streets. The sun has set completely by now, but lamps have been hung outside many buildings and shops, so at least you're not in the dark. You check around at a few more inns, but find the situation to be the same; the fear of being on the road has inflated inn prices everywhere. You do come across some food, though.

So, sated, but still cold and tired, you ask your party what you're going to do next.

Merlyn looks around at everyone. "I don't see what else we can do," she says. "We'll sleep on the ground again tonight. Tomorrow we'll start making our way through the woods toward Kalokathir."

You all nod gravely, make a little camp for yourselves in the woods on the outskirts of the city, and go to sleep.
