"I don't care how powerful this guy is," you say. "I don't like him. We've been doing fine on our own."

"Man, are you crazy?" Deke asks. "No way we coulda beat that wolf on our own! Hey, what if another of them shows up? There's gonna be lotsa monsters on the road with Vulkaro turned into a demon now and all. Right Merlyn?"

"That's right," she says. "And my magic's not all that powerful yet. Trust us, we're going to need help."

"No way," you say. "It's gonna take more than a 20-foot wolf killed with a single spell to convince me."

"How about a 40-foot chicken?" asks Deke. "One just showed up behind you."

"No problem," you say, swallowing your fear as you turn to see the giant fowl behind you. "I'll take care of this on my own. Just watch."

But, noticing that this chicken could stomp all of you at once even more easily than the wolf could have swallowed you, you wonder if fighting is the best idea...
