Mr. Snakey

Age: almost 5 years old, born in early '98, day unsure

Weight: unknown at this time.

Length: 59", measured early fall '01.

Description: He has a dark tanish base color. Neat well placed pattern with what I call drips between saddles. It looks like someone actually painted the pattern on his body then sat him upright and so the paint dripped and fused into other saddles. His stomach is high orange about from the vent to about three forths up. He has a mildly speckled stomach and body. I've seen both cleaner and dirtier snakes. His sides are a mixture between a bluish gray, pink and orange. His tail is ok... I've seen better and worse there too. So I believe combined with the right super light girl he could add color and pattern to any pastel project dispite his other faults...

Genetics: Geneticlly abbarent pattern.

History/Ancestry: Purchased from a pet store who had a GOOD breeder who supplied them snakes, he happened to be there the day I purchased him. That breeder to my knowledge has stopped breeding... His name I never picked up... so basically I don't know out of who or what Mr. Snakey is...

Relatives I Own: #6-02, #9-02, #11-02, #13-02, #15-02, #21-02, #23-02.

Projects Included In: High Orange, gentic aberrant pattern/stripe.

Breeding History: Winter '01-'02 with Hantenmoyo produced lots!

The Story: Mr. Snakey is definately the snake that started it all. Without that chance encounter at a local petstore I would have never known the glory that are snakes and the awesome people that consist the "herp subculture". I give my life to you!

I purchased Mr. Snakey in late 1998, actual date and month I can't recall... But I remember it well enough. I was going to the pet store to pick up some dry iguana food (for Mr. Iguana who was really a girl but that's another story altogether)and there I saw him... woah.... A light tanish brown with abbarent striping and a killer orange tummy... oo and the feel of him. I recalled the feel of a corn belly a few years back when I went to a science center for a field trip. Like some wicked rubber, it felt like what I always thought dolphins would feel like and the smooth pebbley feel of the rest of the body was a sensation all it's own.

80 bucks. I didn't have 80 bucks... ack! Well, mom was there so I put on the charm... and she happended to like him to! So WHAM! With a little negotiation that included getting rid of the iguana i already owned (which i still sometimes regret because I only contributed to the problem...) Anyway, I went home with him and everything was all good...

healed nose rub :(

And two years later after Mr. Snakey and I went through the heat rock, mouse bite, substrate stuck in the mouth trials, I decided I wanted more! Mr. Snakey was purely a pet and was and still is there only for my enjoyment at that time but now it's taken a whole new turn since I began breeding. However I will never let Mr. Snakey become just another breeder; he means the world to me even if he doesn't know it and I owe the person I am today to the snake he is.
