Personal Protection in the Home
                                   (Concealed weapon permit compliant)

Participants in the Personal Protection course should be experienced shooters who can competently demonstrate the basic skills of safe gun handling and usage.
This course requires participants to take a written pre-course evaluation.

Participants will be required to present documentation of training and/or shooting experience by providing any of the following:
NRA FIRST Steps Pistol certificate, NRA Basic Pistol Course certificate, NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program certificate, or DD 214 with pistol qualification listed.

Overview
This course is designed for law-abiding adult citizens, as defined by applicable federal, state, or local law, who have the mindset and staidness necessary to comprehend the subject matter and properly perform the activities in the course.
Unlike the other basic courses, Personal Protection in the Home covers defensive shooting aspects.
Self-defense shooting is an area much different from standardized shooting fundamentals because it can include mindset, legal issues, decision-making under pressure, planning for the worst, and other areas. This course  is much more than just a routine shooting course.
It is important that participants have sufficient maturity and life experiences to be able to assess various situations and make mature level-headed decisions.  Participants must be experienced shooters (those able to show a mastery of the basic skills of safe gun handling, shooting a group, zeroing the firearm, and cleaning the firearm) to maximize what can be learned from this course.

Participants will receive the following published materials with this course -
Personal Protection In The Home Handbook, Basic Firearm Training Program Brochure,
NRA Gun Safety Rules Brochure, and the Marksmanship Qualification Program Booklet.
