DETROIT FILMMAKING TEAM TAKES ON
COURTNEY LOVE AND MTV

'Fanatic' audience laughing from Consumption

June 13, 2001 (Detroit) - What would happen if a fan were to meet his idol, Courtney Love, but the idol doesn't want to meet the fan? That is the premise of "Courtney Love - 'Fanatic'", a short film comedy by Fire & Shamrocks Productions, located in Detroit.

In this parody of the hit MTV show "Fanatic", a young man, Todd, is surprised to find out that in a few short hours he will be face to face with the object of his long held affection, the music and movie star, Courtney Love. The problem is that Courtney, in this portrayal, is a vodka swilling, heroine addicted pill popper who insists on being called DIVA.

The Internet portal ConsumptionJunction.com has picked up the four and a half minute short and is getting rave reviews for its comic irreverence, as well as over 500,000 viewers!  ConsumptionJunction.com gets an estimated 150,000 unique visitors per day and is rated by Alexa - the #1 source of traffic auditing - as thhe #638th highest trafficked site on the entire Internet.

'Fanatic' was written directed and starring Dave Squared Sullivan, who has worked on several short film projects along with producer Sam Gibbs who also plays Courtney's Assistant, William, as well as editor Gordon Dean who serves as Todd, the unfortunate fan.

Dave, Sam, and Gordon have collaborated on the shorts "The Squared Witch Project" a different look at the indie mega-hit "The Blair Witch Project" and also "Rebel Bass" a "Star Wars" comedy send-up about a fictional rap band from a different galaxy. The team is now developing their first feature "Heads" which paints a realistic portrait of racist hatred, how it is condoned in society and the wake of destruction that it leaves behind.

Available for interviews.

DETROIT FILMMAKERS SET TO SCREEN
"GOODBYE, I LOVE YOU" AT MAJOR FESTIVAL

Has Art Imitated Life Too Closely?

June 27, 2000 (Detroit) - At first glance it seems like a harmless videotape.
You put it in your VCR and what you see is a man, describing to his parents the reasons why they are seeing this tape in the first place.
It's because these are his last words.  A videotaped suicide note, from a gay man dying from AIDS.

But is it real?

Or is it another clever way to get people to look at themselves, and their children, in a different way?

Many times art holds the mirror of reality up to our face and makes us take stock of ourselves and how we would react if this was our child's farewell speech.

What would you do?

This short film begs the question in this ultimate in voyeur entertainment.

Dave Squared delivers a shocking and disturbing performance that captures the characters helplessness, hopelessness and rage in few short minutes the viewer will not soon forget.

"Goodbye, I Love You" is a part of a more ambitious project "Missing Marty" which chronicles the loss of a loved one and celebrates his life, climaxing with the revelation of the dramatic suicide video.
"Goodbye" is the brain child of filmmaker Dave Squared and marketed by Producer Sam Gibbs, both of Detroit, who are screening "Hello, I Love You" at the 18th annual Outfest Film Festival in Los Angeles, CA. Premiering awards night, July 16th at 4:30pm in the Village Theater in the Ed Gould Plaza and is a part of the short film competition.

This film takes full advantage of the digital revolution in filmmaking that made the "Blair Witch Project" so popular in Hollywood, and combines it with upcoming reality genre shows like "American High" and "Big Brother" in which you see raw images as they happened.

"Goodbye" is represented by Sam Gibbs, long time filmmaking partner and friend. Dave and Sam have collaborated on the shorts "The Squared Witch Project" a different look at the indie mega-hit "The Blair Witch Project" and also "Rebel Bass" a "Star Wars" comedy send-up about a fictional rap band from a different galaxy.

The team is now developing their first feature "Heads" which paints a realistic portrait of racist hatred, how it is condoned in society and the wake of destruction that it leaves behind.
