Disclaimer – I don’t own Buffy, Angel, Willow, or any of the other characters, “although I wish I did” but I don’t, they all belong to Joss Weldon.

Authors Note –  Angel did not go to hell but rather, he was killed by Spike and Drusilla. He did not that’s DID NOT loss his soul because that’s just crap, in my universe he’s aloud to have sex. Willow and Buffy live together, because….. they just do. It’s about a year after the Wish. Third story in my ‘Puppy Love’ series. Yes I know he acts a little screwed up in this, but hey he was tortured for four years, give me a break.

Special Thanx – Special thanks to my “Anime girl” she’s the one that got me started on fanfic and Anime, so I basically owe all my pieces of fanfic “Especially the smut ones” to her. And I know she’ll one day own the biggest and most famous Anime studio in the world, and make about 50 grand a week, so never to early to start sucken up.

Buffy had, after several hours, managed to convince Puppy that she was the real slayer, Buffy, only not the one he had meet the first time. She had explained to him about the different worlds, and time lines, and had promised him that he would be much safer and better off in her world.

“So it’s not the same?” Puppy asked for about the twentieth time. “Nope. Much, much, much better then here.” Puppy again gazed at her curiously. “And Willow and her mate aren’t vampires?” Buffy gave him an odd look. “Could you please stop calling Xander her mate. I don’t even want to know why you say that. But no, they’re not only not vampires but they’re actually my two best friends.” They had almost reached the school where Buffy prayed the gateway was still open. “They’re your friends?” He just couldn’t seem to accept that two of the most evil and cruel vampires he had ever meet were friends with the slayer. *Poor Angel. He must be so mixed up. Well, I’m sure he’ll feel better after he’s safe and warm…. And has had a long bath.* She looked at him closely again, even though he was technically covered by her long coat she could still recalled how filthy and blood covered he was underneath it. “Yep, I’m sure you’ll get along with them fine… well with Willow any way.* He looked at the ground doubtfully. “Yeah, maybe…”

Only he hadn’t, once getting him back, he had been extremely leery and nervous around, not only Willow and Xander, but also Giles, Jenny, and Oz.

“It’s okay Angel.” He had fearfully backed himself into the far corner of the library. He had honestly thought he would be able to handle seeing Willow and her mate, but once there and approached by them every once of fear and pain had instantly returned. “Not Angel… Puppy…” Everyone in the room looked at him curiously. Then Buffy recalled some thing. “Oh Gods… I forgot… That’s what he called you....” Buffy looked at him sadly beginning to understand. “Care to share with the rest of us Buff?” Xander asked curiously. “That’s what you called him.” He looked at her dumbfounded. “No, not you, you, the other you. The vampire you in his world.” “Oh… okay.” Buffy slowly moved to sit beside the frightened vampire as she had done before in the cell. “Ang……Puppy.” He raised his head just enough to look at her. “Is that what you want us to call you?” He seemed to consider it for a moment, then slowly nodded his head. “Okay, Puppy, will you please let us take care of your wounds?” His eyes instantly flickered to Xander and Willow, then with a definitive shake ‘no’ he cuddled back into Buffys coat he was still wearing. Now they we’re all aware that they could easily over power this weakened version of Angel and forcibly bandage his injuries, but that was not going to happen until all else had failed. Jenny deciding she might have better luck, crouched down with Buffy and tried a different tactic. “Puppy.” She made sure to keep her voice calm and gentle. “It would really make us all feel better if you’d let us help you.” He cast a quick glance at Buffy, then lowered his head again. Seeing this Jenny continued. “It would really make Buffy feel better. She’s really worried about you.” Getting the idea Buffy picked up. “I brought you back to help you, I want you to get better….Puppy.” She carefully laid her hand on his back. “Please, please let us help.” He looked up at her, considering if she was telling the truth or not. ”Will..you stay?” Buffy gave him one of her genuine Buffy smiles. “Count on it.”

Buffy walked tiredly back into the main room of the library where her friends waited for her. *Poor Angel. This isn’t how it was suppose to go. I knew he was bad off, I should have prepared the others better. Poor Willow and Xander, they must feel terrible……*

"It’s okay Puppy.” Through some miracle they had managed to get him into the back room and on the table with out a struggle. Buffy suddenly remembering how bad he actually looked decided to prepare the others. "Okay, now don’t be to shocked when you see this.” Giles gave her a look. “Buffy I’m a watcher, I assure you there is no injury or act of cruelty horrid enough to shock me any more.” “Okay.” Gently she helped Puppy remove the coat and lye back down. “Oh man, no wonder he’s afraid of us." Xander stated, suddenly feeling very sick. “Oh dear.” *So much for not shocking Giles.* Willow how ever could not even bring herself to look at the several large gashes and numerous bruises that seemed to mark every part of his body. “I’m sorry…. I gotta…” Buffy offered an understanding look to her friend. “Xander, Oz why don’t you take Willow and get some air.” Xander nodded in agreeance. “We’ll be out there if ya need us.” “Thanks Oz.” She returned her attention to Puppy who seemed to be getting extremely nervous again. Running the back of her hand over his cheek she began to try to calm him. “Shhh. It’s okay.” Jenny walked over to them, holding some bandages and a wet towel. “Puppy, this may hurt a little bit. But we need you to trust us and lay still, okay?” After casting a quick glance at Buffy he nodded yes.

Everyone looked up at her expectantly when she entered. Buffy gave them a weary smile. "Well, aside from all injuries and just pure exhaustion, Giles and Mrs. Calendar think he’s gonna be okay." Buffy gazed around the room at all her friends who each wore the same sympathetic and relieved look. “So where are Giles and Mrs. Calendar?” “Oh, trying to find some blankets for him……… Um, Will, ya know how your always saying how we always have more room then we need in that big two story house of ours?” Willow looked at her expectantly. “Well I was thinking, ya know he’s not really to clear on our reality…. So I was kind of wondering.. if well.. maybe…… you wouldn’t mind if-“ “If he moved in with us?” Willow finished off for her. “Well, yeah.” “Buffy, of course I don’t mind if he stays with us. Maybe then he can see that I’m not going to hurt him.” “Great! Oz do you think you can drive me over to Angels old place so I can get some clothes and stuff for him?” “Sure, no problem.” *I will make this right. If it kills me I’m going to make this work…………*

It had been very trying night. Buffy and Oz had returned a little before three am with a clean pair of jeans and T-shirt, that where both slightly too big for their guest. Then with much hesitation and fuss from the injured demon they had gotten him into Oz’s van and drove to Buffy and Willows house.

“Sweety it’s all going to be fine, I promise.” Puppy looked nervously around the spacious home. He felt relatively calmer though with everyone besides his savior gone. The others had gone to their homes and Buffy had asked Willow to spend the night at Oz’s house, seeing as how Puppy was not just yet comfortable being around her. “Where, where do you want me to stay?” Buffy thought a minute. “Well, what room do you want to stay in?” Puppy suddenly got a panicked look, as if there was a right answer to the question and if he didn’t get it he’d be punished. “I.. I.. Um, what ever one you want me too.” Buffy looked at him oddly for a minute. “Um, okay, how about this one?” She led him into the room next to hers. “We can put up heavier curtains and sun proof windows tomorrow. But for now I think the curtains it has will do… Okay?” He sheepishly nodded his head. “Okay then, why don’t you get some rest? I’ll go out and get you so blood, and more clothes in the morning, okay?” Again a quick nod. “All right ya know when I ask you a question, it’s okay or even expected at times to say something back.” He finally brought his gaze back up to hers. “I’m sorry… I’m just, I didn’t really talk much when…….” She put a comforting hand on his shoulder. “Hey, it’s all right. But I promise your safe here. Okay?” “Okay.” She gave him a loving smile. “Good start. Why don’t you get some rest now though.” “Will you stay? I mean here… I just..” “Yeah, I’m not goin any where. I’ll be right in the next room if you need me.” He smiled, slightly, in relief. “Thanks.” “No problem. Good night Puppy.” She gently gave him a sweet kiss on the cheek, before turning to her own room. “Good night Buffy.”
