Can you imagine a guy who could throw a perfect game, tell a joke that would make you laugh and go "Grosssssse" at the same time and still be able to get the guts up to put on a lil black dress for Cross-Dressing day?! : ) Probably not...but he existed. His name was Arthur Hawley.
Art was one of the good guys...even when he was trying to be bad! He was the kind of guy that mother's adored, and girls from ages 9 to 90 got a crush on. He worked hard, played harder. When Art did something, he gave it his all...be it playing or teaching his passion, baseball, or designing projects for school. He was a true friend to those he cared for, always willing to lend a hand no matter the circumstance.
Now don't get me wrong, he wasn't perfect! But then again, who is? He screwed up now and then, did his homework...well...when need be, and managed to use his charm on a few occasions! That's just made him who he was. Nothing more, nothing less.
Some of my best memories of Arthur are doing silly things...eating fortune cookies at the Chinese food place during spares...playing "chase" with our vans during spares...fooling around with footballs during spares...playing archades allllll the way across town...during spares. Well...yeah, things happened during non-spares too! : ) I guess it was often those "free" moments that were the best ever. Then again, who could forget a good *POKE* or a well placed *YOINK*. He had an affection for all...well MOST living things, as long as they didn't threaten to hurt his manhood! Mind you, the traffic controllers were pretty good about it all! Poor guy, 5 minutes of fun and then two hours of putting his equipment away!

It was a huge upset to learn that Arthur's life was cut tragically short at the age of 20. One split second he was here, the next, he was not. I hope that he knows there are many people here on earth who will remember the man...the boy, who always put a smile on our faces. May you rest in peace, Arthur Hawley.
