THE EYES OF EVIL

Scott

It all started a good 3 months ago, when J decided to get even more bad-tempered than usual. We all suspected it had something to do with his new girl, so we didn’t bother him with all nasty questions. But only a bit later Sean started to act that weird too. He was not the usual “doesn’t bother me”, but was agressive, short tempered and said no other words anymore than curses. Bloody, and what curses! I’m still sorry I didn’t write them down and look ‘em up. Yeah, I’m nosy. So what? I’m trying to tell a story here. Don’t interrupt me all the time. Well, where was I? Oh,yes. After a month, Abs was having the same, what should it be called, a disease perhaps. But still we weren’t alarmed. Now I come to think of it, maybe it wasn’t coincedence,we didn’t suspect anything. Maybe it was some kind of sleep we were in, ‘cuz even I should’ve noticed those things.

Please note I DO know of my shortcomings.

Anyway, two weeks ago, Rich had the symptoms too, and this time I did get suspicious, ‘cuz when you know Rich, it’s not his kinda thing. At least, when he isn’t drunk. But even he couldn’t be drunk 24 hours a day, could he? Maybe he can. I’ll ask him next time I see him. But I went to talk to him on a day I think I’ll always remember. His house was a mess, as it is continually, but there was a strange scent hanging in the air I never smelled before. Now I know what it was it horrifies me to think of it. Rich was unusually calm, as he hadn’t been for a week. For some reason, his voice sounded hollower I remembered it being. “Listen, Scott.” He said to me. “I’ll try to speak honest with you. Two weeks ago, I met this girl in a bar. She was pretty, really, but those eyes...I couldn’t tear myself away from that gaze of those cold green eyes.” He stopped talking and breathed heavier, as if it caused him strike. Now I know it did. “When she touched me, I felt empty, she took my soul. She did that to the others too,you know.” He stopped again and put his hand on his heart, and I felt I could hear his heart beating irregularly and too fast. “She comes in another form every time, but the eyes remain the same, Scott. Look at her eyes.” I had the idea I was listening to a raving fool, but that it was important.

Be nice,J. Rich doesn’t always sound like a raving fool. I know you were going to say that. May I remind you this is my story? Thank you.

“She’ll come to you too, Scott,‘cuz she needs five souls to be freed. Don’t ever let her touch you. Destroy her if you must, and us too, but stop her. I’ll tell ya you don’t want her to touch your mind. You don’t wanna be what we’ve become.” He smiled sadly.”I know I sound like a raving fool,‘cuz that’s all that’s left of me. Her name is..” Far away, I heard a thundering voice shouting “No!”. But she was too late, and that was her mistake. “The Demon Queen Darellia.” That were the last words he said, before he fell unconscious, and a flickering red shape appeared in the room. When she was done flickering, she was a beautiful woman, I can well say without offense to anyone the prettiest I’ve ever seen. She was tall and lean, had a, well, ‘welcoming’ body, blond hair, perfect regular features and a nice tan. But those eyes.. Rich was right. Her eyes were of a cold green that somewhere reminded me of a frog. “Don’t believe him” she said in sensual voice pointing to Rich’ lifeless body. “ You and I will get along fine, sweetie.”When she did a step to me and I did one back.I had to use everything in me to resist the invitation in her eyes, and I filled my head with all my thoughts of Kerry. Somewhere I felt she only could save me. And she did. Her face twitched."Don’t do that”she growled, and suddenly I felt a lot more sure. “Why not? Don’t you like it? Return to hell, Demon Queen Darellia!” I continued in a shout. She screamed and her clothes(the little she had) started to smoke. She screamed again and was suddenly on full fire, but she didn’t burn the furniture. And she retuned to hell as I commanded, burning forever. I suppose she still does. And that was the end of the story.

I admit I wasn’t really all that of a hero, and maybe it wasn’t all that much of a story either, but decide for yourself. This is what really happened. And if I’m made a hero in years to come, keep in mind this is what really happened, and who I really was.

THE END!
