CHAPTER NINE

J and Katja had made themselves comfortable on the balcony. J really started to like the beautiful Russian girl and he thought it might be mutual. "So..um, how long did it take you to grow your hair that length?" he asked. Okay, so it’s not the best beginning. Katja shrugged, silently thinking this was probably the worst sentence she’d ever been approached with, although it at least was original. "Dunno, couple of years." she replied. "But I’m thinking of cutting it off." As ever, there was a shocked reaction at that. "But it’s so beautiful!" he said.
"Everyone says that" Katja answered disappointed, she had thought he might be different, but appearantly he wasn’t.
"So that’s a bore then huh?" J asked grinning. "But well, it’s your hair. It could look fantastic. And you won’t have guys going on about your ‘beautiful hair’, isn’t it ?"
"Exactly" she said relieved. He understood. This was so cool… J smiled at her and cupped her chin. "Whatever will suit ya love" he said softly. "You’ll always be pretty…" With that, he silently drew in closer and she anticipated the kiss. With their lips just milimeters apart, Katja suddenly remembered the silly grin on Dee’s face when she had introduced her to J. So that was what they were up to. She pulled away violently and J looked shocked at her, raising his eyebrows. "it can’t be something I said" he mumbled scratching his head as katja stood before him looking angry with her hands on her hips. "And I don’t remember eating something smelly today besides I brushed my teeth for the party. So.." he continued.
"Oh don’t you see!" Katja exclaimed frustrated. "Those girls are doing it again! They were planning this all along!"
"Oh, THAT" replied J. "Yeah, I know. What about it? I knew about it as soon as I saw those silly grins. They’re crazy, but in the end, it’s not too bad, is it? I mean I really like you."
Katje smiled and nodded. "I really like you too" she whispered as they went on where they had left off..

Dee arrived just in time to see J and katja kiss. She stopped right in her tracks, and silently turned around to walk away, and looked directly in Daphne’s face, with that well-known devious little grin. "That makes two" Daphne told her mate. Dee frowned. "Abs and Amanda?" she asked. When Daphne nodded, Dee grinned too and said:"Told ya. How are Dalish and Rich doing?"
"Very well. They like eachother, but Dalish isn’t someone who gives in immediately, and that’s intrigueing Rich. Men" Daphne replied, rolling her eyes.
Wendy smiled. "I know what you mean. C’mon, let’s go have some fun ourselves. Some guys around here aren’t too bad y’know."
"I suppose. Let’s go check them out. And kick that lazy DJ’s ass. He’s been playing the same song for over 15 minutes now."
Dee tried not to laugh. "Daph, Abs is the DJ. And he’s occupied right now…"

Tamara turned softly around on her sneakers and walked away from Loz and Scott. They liked eachother, but Scott obviously was still hoping she’d make a move in his direction, and she wanted to give Lauren a chance. Some time together without her made just do it.
Scott noticed her walking away and frowned. He hadn’t really believed that she had meant what she said. How could she just dump him like that? He was hurt in his menly pride. I’m going to give all my attention to Loz, he thought. Then Tamara will think again. Haha.(men will always do the most stupid things to renew their huge ego’s, isn’t it, or is it just me noticing? Note by the author).

Sean didn’t really like the pale Erin. He wondered if he was just as boring as she was. He felt a bit guilty about the conversation not coming along, knowing he was to blame as well. So for the next 30 minutes he tried his very best to be nice and chatty. She flourished in his attention, but Sean caught himself scanning the room for Dee. There she was, over at the drinks-table, talking to Daphne. She had coloured her short hair a furious red, and it looked fab. "What are you thinking of?"Erin suddenly asked in her unpleasant voice.
"Er, nothing" Sean replied. "Shall we have a drink?" he offered.
"Yeah, alright" she answered happily.
They walked over to the table where J earlier that evening had set up the drinks and crisps.
"Hey Seany!" Daphne exclaimed happily. Sean sighed. Either she’d drunk too much or she was extremely happy about something, otherwise she wouldn’t act like that. And she could be very annoying when she was so hyper Rich-like happy. Behind her friend’s back, Dee made a drinking gesture with her right hand and rolled her eyes, at which Sean had to laugh. But when she gave him a questioning glance over to Erin, obviously wanting to know how things were going, his smile fainted. They WERE trying to hook him up with Erin. Damn, why did he have to be in love with Dee?
