The things she said have torn into my heart,
I'm afraid the pain will rip me apart.

I know I am not perfect nor have I ever been,
but I've apologized for the past over and over again.

I made mistakes ones I really regret,
I wish there was a way I could help her forget.

There is so much love for her in my heart,
yet she has claimed different from the start.

Any attempt at closness is coldly denied,
and then she claims I've never so much as tried.

Accusations and names are thrown at me,
and when I try to explain I'm treated belligerently.

Words of love and caring are received with scorn,
she claims she was hated since she was born.

I know Heavenly Father, You know my heart,
know how much I've loved her from the start.

You know the agony over the decisions that were made,
and You know my love for her has never swayed.

Please give me wisdom and strength to get me through,
let me Father give it all to You.

Increase my love give me a forgiving, understanding heart,
and never from You let my eyes depart.

Forgive me my inadequacies please,
and help me to come to Thee daily on my knees.
