As life passes it's peak and approaches it's final hour,
I pray that I be granted staying power.

Power to face and defeat the enemy,
power to overcome the sinful nature in me.

Power to discern the false from the true,
power and wisdom my commitment to renew.

Power not to be tempted to rest on the past,
power to stand tall and firm to the last.

Power to speak words that are worthwhile and true,
power to lead others to see salvation's view.

Power to serve and not fret over my needs,
power to follow where my Savior leads.

Yes my request as I approach life's final hour,
is that I be granted God's staying power.
