| Three
Spikes by Barbara Philbrook When you
look at the spikes what do you see, Do you see
the method by which He hung on the cross, Can you
recall the tale of the beating and shame, Are there
tears in your eyes as you think on his pain, Can you
almost picture the mallet come down on each, These and
other negative thoughts have come to me, Now when
on these spikes I look, When I
count them one two three, When I
picture the holes they left behind, When I
think of the sound of the mallet that day, If tears
gather before they can fall, The spikes
were intended to cause the death of a king, The three
spikes may to some cause a painful sting, |
