Only You Lord know the future as well as the past,
if my strength and conviction would really last.

If I would be able to face what lies ahead,
or whether I would be broken by it instead.

Only You know what is for the best,
if I would succeed or if I'd fail some test.

Would I remain firm and strong,
or would I crack when too much came along?

Is my conviction what the future will take,
or would some devastating change my spirit break?

Would the things I see draw me closer to You,
or is there some dreadful damage it would do?

Only You Lord have the answer to all of these,
so consider each when I come in prayer please.

Consider each and do what would be best,
each and every time I approach You with a request.
