It's so easy to be distracted,
as trials in our daily lives are enacted.

To have our eyes taken off of Jesus,
and look at the things that displease us.

It's so easy to have our attention turned away,
if we forgot to get on our knees and pray.

It's so easy to lose our self control,
if our surrender to God was not completely whole.

It's so easy and yet it needn't be,
because Jesus died and won the victory.

Those of us covered by His blood,
need not be caught up in life's torrential flood.

We need not be caught up and carried away,
if we just remember to surrender each day.

There is no good that you or I can do,
if we haven't surrendered as we're supposed to.

We are incapable of standing against sin on our own,
the truth of this in God's Word is shown.

But by accepting Salvation and all it includes,
then the suffering of failing He excludes.

We are winners by our inherited right,
we are standing on Jesus' might.

I surrender each day my heart, body, and soul,
giving them to Jesus for complete control.

It's so easy to face life since I've accepted my Savior,
because He is now in control of my behavior.
