I need your help Lord I can not go on alone,
there is no way for me to succeed in life on my very own.

We are made anew when we invite you into our heart,
and of course this is true Lord but I am still as I was in part.

I am not complaining I'm voicing what I never knew,
that on my own there is not anything good that I can do.

I used to spend so much time trying to be good,
then I surrendered to you and you took over as you said you would.

There is so much more that you have to do as yet,
but I trust you Lord and I no longer fret.

I've learned to give it all to you and to trust and obey,
that's exactly what I do as I start and close each new day.

I need to know just how I can best serve you,
is there any special way in which I can bring honor to you?

Then I need you to help me that I never forget,
what life was like when I hadn't met you yet.

Please lord help me to remember to surrender each day,
I've learned that the days go wrong if I forget to do this as I pray.

Help me to remember that I am nothing without you,
and help me to share your story so others will seek you too.

Help me Lord so that the life I live will  bring to you,
the honor and glory that is due.

Help me Lord that the words that I speak each and every day,
will make those who hear them turn their life around and kneel to pray.
