Giving of self is a gift for eternity,
giving of our things lasts but momentarily.

A gift given that can not be bought,
is the way life's most valuable lesson is taught.

Unconditional love is a gift such as this,
the recipient is lifted to indescribable bliss.

How can you describe what it does to you,
to know you are loved no matter what you do?

To be loved so deeply one would willingly die,
so that you could one day live with them on high.

To have left his throne and His family,
to come and be executed for the likes of you and me.

This all done by God's own Son,
even if I had been the only one.

Even if only one soul He would save,
still we are told He would have willingly gave.

Gave of Himself for you and me,
just so that from our sins we'd be set free.

Giving of self in such a loving way,
He deserves our praises night and day.
