A Few Empty Pages
by Barbara Philbrook

There is a book in Heaven with names listed there,
each person named accepted Salvation by prayer.
I can remember the day I heard the full truth,
though I'd heard of God since early in my youth.

I had heard and thought there were things I had to do,
before I'd be good enough in God's personal view.
Then as I was reading in the Word one day,
God opened my eyes so I could see what He had to say.

Salvation is a gift offered absolutely free,
not anything that is deserved or could be earned by me.
We are beckoned to the truth so lovingly revealed,
if we choose to accept our death sentence is repealed.

The changing that's needed can then begin,
since the Holy Spirit is now residing deep within
Our name is now written in the Book Of Life,
and we have within our heart this sense of delight.

There are pages and pages with names written down,
but there's one simple fact causes me to frown.
A few empty pages remain completely unused,
the salvation being offered is ignored or refused.

Is your name missing have you turned salvation down,
thinking there's plenty of time for your to come around?
Have you ignored what Jesus had to say,
thinking you can make your choice some another day?

Please listen the book will soon be sealed,
this is not an idle threat the danger's very real.
Call on the Savior accept what He's offering you,
then your name will appear in the Book Of Life too.
