I asked the Lord for a bit of wisdom to pass on,
then I was disappointed when I awoke at dawn.

No pearl of wisdom no special insight.
I got on my knees, "Father didn't I ask right?"

With love and caring He answered me,
"There is no new wisdom needed you see."

"You have all the knowledge you need,
open your Bible and with enlightenment proceed."

"All of the truths have already been given to you,
and seeking to find is your part to do."

"There is no secret, it's no great mystery.
It's been there in plain site throughout history."

"All who seek are sure to find,
I will enhance your wisdom by opening your mind."

"I know it seems to simple to be true,
but Jesus paid the price for all of you."

"You hear the truth and are able to believe,
then you call on Jesus and say you'll receive."

"Instantly the Holy Spirit moves right in,
a brand new life in you to begin."

"You surrender, let us do the changing.
Some of your thinking will need rearranging."

"That's it, that's all there is you see.
The gift of salvation is yours absolutely for free."

It's all been there since before you were born,
just surrender to Me and new light will dawn."
