Chapter 1: Fiora's Failure

-=* Serra's POV *=-

(
In Erk's Room)

I was lounging on Erk's bed, looking over his shoulder at the Thunder tome, when I noticed a crimson streak on his arm.

"Erky, that looks like a nasty cut on your arm.  Hold it you for me, would you?", I yelled, louder then I intended.  Erky wordlessly held out his arm and I used my staff to stop the blood from flowing out of his arm.
A knock was heard on Erk's door.

"Erky, can you help me with something?", Fiora's voice rang out on the other side.

"Just who I didn't want to see...", Erk muttered.  "Come in Fiora!".  I watched Fiora walked into Erk's room, with a sword in her hand, and an eager look on her face.

"
For someone who claims to value honor so much, she wears barely any clothes!"
Fire Emblem Freak: Imagine Fiora in the picture below without those long battle boots and gloves on.
"I found this sword in our last battle.  The man who wielded it also summoned wind using this weapon.  Can you teach me how to do so?", Fiora asked.  Her tone clearly indicated she wanted to spend all day listened to Erk's voice.

"Of course!  It sounds like a weaker form of the excalibur spell.  I'm sure I have the tome for it right here...", Erky spoke enthusiastically.  Gently closing his Thunder tome, Erky got up and placed it on a large stack of more anima tomes.  I observed Fiora admiring his neck while Erky found the tome he was searching for.  Turning around, he walked to his bed then sat on it, not noticing that horrible woman's blush.  Erky turned to a bookmarked page and read from it.

"Concentrate.  Feel the air around you.  Draw it's power into your blade.", Erk intoned.  "Then chant, 'Anto bethnee hah, hex bee an calibur!'"

I watched Fiora eat up my Erky's words like a starved peasant girl.  I started walking towards the pair to pry Fiora away when she began chanting.

"Anto bethnee hah, hex bee an calibre!", Fiora repeated incorectly.  She immediately flushed brightly and apologized profusely like a servant facing her master's wrath.

"No, the last word in the incantation is 'calibur' not 'calibre'.  Try again.", Erk responded patiently.  Fiora repeatedly screwed up the pronounciation of the spell, blushing brighter and brighter each time.  After 47 failed attempts, Erk's patience ran out.

"How many times must you fail, woman!?  Do you enjoy looking like a witless baboon, time and again?", Erk spat venomously.  "Do you--", Erk stopped as Serra leapt off of his bed, grabbed Fiora's arm and twisted her around.

"Erky is MY bodyguard!  I know you enjoy being near him...that's why you continually screw up!  He's MINE!  Keep your filthy teal-haired skull AWAY from my Erky!", Serra screamed.

"Erk does NOT belong to you Serra, he's MINE!  He's--", Fiora responded, her voice filled with jealously, before Serra interrupted.

"That's Mistress Serra to you, girl!", Serra said as condescending as possible.  She noticed her "Erky's" mouth open and quieted immediately.

-= * Erk's POV *=-
"Fiora, I am NOT your toy!  I would rather join Guy as another one of Matthew's slave boy's then spend any more time then absolutely necessary around a hopeless failure like yourself!", Erk yelled angrily.

"B-but E-erky, I love you...", Fiora's voice trailed away.

"Get out!  You disgust me!"  I shoved her out of the door, happily  noting the tears streaming down her distraught face.  I wearily turned my head and attention towards Serra.  Lately, he needed to keep his complete attention on her words to keep himself from thinking suicidal thoughts, such as, "
Serra is the most beautiful girl on Elibe."

"Good boy, Erky!", Serra proclaimed with her usual loudness.  I flinched in anticipation of what was no doubt the beginning of her "ownership" speech.

"
She treats me like I'm her slave...", I thought.

"I would like to--", Serra tripped and was rapidly falling backwards towards my only neatly stacked rare anima tomes.  I grabbed her hand and pulled her up, a little closer then I expected.  "Oh Erky!", Serra screeched in my ear.

Desperate, Erk tried to see if he could stop her voice.  Bringing his mouth closer to hers, he watched her close her eyes and lean eagerly towards him, causing them both to fall on his bed.  Their lips nearly joined when...

"Oh my god!  ERKY!  What disgusting breath you have!", Serra screamed, getting off him.  Erk sat up, only to bashed in the head, knocking him back down.  "Ruffian!  Trying to...to...after you've eaten one of Bartre's snacks!", she wailed loudly.  She ran out of his room before he could speak.
