Rise of the Fire Ants

It was December of the year 2005, Christmas vacation, when Romel Sales also known as Agony, decided to start a small business. A T-shirt printing business that will practice creativity. While riding a bus going back home, he thought of possible name. Fire Ants came about in a glimpse. Anthony Lawas, the co-founder agreed about the name. There are two reasons why it was called Fire Ants. First, the Fire is Agony, and Ants is his business partner named Anthony. Secondly, Fire Ants founders are students of Fine Arts who both enjoy the artistry they have.
January of 2006, start of classes. Agony and Anthony discussed about what to do first. At first, the only money they have is 500 pesos. With that amount, they created the processing box to transfer designs on silkscreen and called it the FireBox. It is a rough road for this two to start their business as early as they wanted. Two weeks later, they got 1000 pesos as additional asset for their business and bought paints and other materials for printing.
February 01, 2006, another 2000 pesos were added to their asset, all things set and ready to release there first ever t-shirt design. Although Fire Ants have few designs for their shirts, it is not that easy to be known and sold. Agony designed a teaser for the U.P.Fair 2006 and it was all over U.P. Diliman campus. Anthony told Agony to use his design as their first printed shirt to be released. It not that easy to sell those printed shirts eventhough Agony personally designed the print. They talked with the USC publicity head of the UPFair and said okay. They released few shirts. Due to growing demands, they printed over 50 shirts. U.P. Tomo-Kai helped them sell their UPFair shirt for 175 pesos and as ex-deal, 10% of the total profit will go to the organization.
Since their first appearance, many of their friends and dorm-mates give them customers. Fire Ants printed OrgShirts, personal shirts and even the Fine Arts shirt courtesy of CWTS classmates of Anthony.
By June 2006, Fire Ants Apparel will release their design of U.P. Diliman shirt.
