| Family & Friends CPR is a modular course that teaches CPR and removal of airway obstructions. Module one presents information about the American Heart Association (AHA) adult Chain of Survival and signs of heart attack, cardiac arrest, stroke and choking in adults. Module 2 presents information about the AHA pediatric infant and child Chain of Survival and signs of choking in infants and children. Groups may select either or both modules to suit their specific needs. The intended audience are laypersons who want to learn rescue skills for friends and loved ones, and family members of patients at risk for sudden cardiac arrest. This is the most popular course, but is not a tested certification class. A course attendance card is issued. Course Length: Approximately 3 Hours Course fee: $20.00 per person |
| COURSE DESCRIPTIONS |
| Heartsaver CPR is a modular course teaching CPR and removal of airway obstructions in adults, children and infants. Lay rescuers learn how to recognize and treat life-threatening emergencies, including cardiac arrest and choking in adults, children and infant victims. Participants of this class include: employees in the workplace fitness trainers aerobic instructors teachers Anyone requiring credentialing for employment or other certifications but are not Health Care Providers involved in Advanced Life Support environments should take this course. Heartsaver CPR expands beyond the Family & Friends course with instruction in the use of personal barrier devices and is a tested curriculum. A 2-year AHA Heartsaver CPR certification card will be issued upon successful completion of the course. Course Length: Approximately 3 hours Course fee: $30.00 per person BLS Healthcare Provider CPR is designed to teach the skills of CPR for victims of all ages (including ventilating with a barrier device and a bag mask device); use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED); and relief of airway obstructions. It is intended for participants who provide health care to patients in a wide variety of settings, including in-hospital and out of hospital settings. The intended participants of this course include Physicians, Nurses, Paramedics, EMTs, Respiratory Therapists, Physical and Occupational Therapists, Medical Students in training, Dental Professionals, and any other allied health personnel. This is a tested curriculum; a 2-year American Heart Association BLS Health Care Provider certification card will be issued upon successful completion of the course. HEARTSAVER AED teaches the basic techniques of Adult CPR and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator, or AED. Students also learn about using personal barrier devices in CPR and providing first aid for choking. The course teaches how to recognize the signs of 4 major emergencies: heart attack, stroke, cardiac arrest and choking. This course is highly recommended to businesses that have purchased or intend to purchase an AED for their facility, or anyone employed anywhere an AED is in service. A 2 year Heartsaver AED certification card will be issued after successful course completion and demonstration of practical skills testing. Course Length: Approximately 3 hours Course Fee: $30.00 per person All courses are taught to the American Heart Association Standards but can be customized to meet your specific needs. All group classes are based on a minimum group size of 8 participants.
