Swansea Fall Festival, 2002

On November 2, 2002 the town of Swansea put on their annual Fall Festival and included a small car show. It is an all day show with other stuff to do besides sit around, but for any future participants of this show, email me before you go. That's all I am going to say.

The show takes place in a field, so anyone with a car really low to the ground will have a hard time getting through there. Lucky for me, my car can make it through there, but it takes days to get the grass and weeds out from underneath it. My dad on the other hand has a harder time, and scrapes his car the whole way out after the show.

This is the second Fall Festival we have participated in, both the 2001 and 2002 shows, and the coordinators were happy to see us return for the second year. In 2001 we returned to participate in Swansea's Christmas Parade, but didn't make it back in 2002.

In 2001 and 2002 I took home second place trophies, and my dad both years took home first place trophies. The judging is very relaxed, a little too relaxed for my comfort. The first year, they had the police department judge, which was fine, but this past year a lady judged (who didn't know anything about cars), and she ended up picking out her favorite cars, and a few lawn mowers too.

For anyone out there who gets their cars ready for shows, you know how many hours and work you put into getting them ready to show, especially if you are like me and at the time drove my car atleast 60 miles a day.

Even though the show wasn't the best I have ever been too, it was still a nice day, and my Uncle Art was there with his GTO.

I was pleased with the way my car looked that day (I had spent days on getting it ready), and I took and take great pride in seeing the finished product after my work. Each year gets better, as I find new ways to make my car shine even more, new ways of modifying it, and new shows to attend.
