Daryl Lee
Electric Bass     -     Electric Guitar     -     Vocals
Music has always been in Daryl's veins.  Having grown up in Canberra and  being in a family of five uncles and aunts, being adopted as the seventh child.  Musically Daryl had grown up in the era of the 50's and 60's...from good old Elvis to Roy Orbison...  the Mersey-beats of the Beatles and the Hollies.  He recalls his Grandfather playing LP's like Herb Albert's "Tijuana Brass" ("Im sure there was a meaning to all of that!!").  Going to school in the 70's and 80's he listened to a diverse range of  genres,  Neil Diamond, AC/DC, Cream, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, U2 - so  many other bands and soloists.   There was also the pop era.  Like most misguided youth in Daryl's school, they all ran amok in music class, but he recalls his music teacher saying to him " Music is a gift that some aren't blessed with, you will regret for the rest of your life if you dont acknowledge  it".   There was wisdom in that comment!

Following his heart for music Daryl  recalls standing for three hours watching a guy make a Rolland Electric Organ and Synthesizer talk at the Golbourn show in the early 1970's and it was at this point, at the age of 15  that the penny dropped for him.  Daryl had found a passion...at this point he took music seriously...he studied hard... every free moment he had he spent learning  the keys.  Not long after Daryl was picked by a local agent for Welson Organs and Synth's to do a demo for him at various shows, shopping malls and a couple of competitions through the south eastern area of NSW and the ACT.

Now days, the keyboard has been put in mothballs and replaced by the guitar and bass...only  however since the early 1990's when Daryl was invited to church one Sunday and upon entering the building heard a grumbling Fender Stratocaster through a Marshall Stack ON FULL DISTORTION...which inspired him to pick up the electric guitar.  Since  that time  he has dabbled with drumming, bass guitar, percussion and lead worship in a local church band.

Since being involved with Fir Croi this past 2 years, it has become an essential part of Daryl and his family's life.  It has also  been about the people, the love, the respect and the truth and .of course... the BEATS.
