Paul Livingston was born in 1956. He spent his early childhood in Mascot, New South Wales hanging around the family business- A barber shop, which was established by his grandfather, Ernie Livingston. As a young boy Livingston could recall the days helping out at the Barber shop when he swept up piles of hair which, at the end of the day, would be burnt in the incinerator. "I still love the smell of burning hair".

A year later he attended 3 separate art schools. But sadly for him, he failes---all three times. During the 1980's he moved to Woolloomooloo and he developed the skills to become an animator. He was inspired by "Funny Stories" a comedy group---a troupe which also inspired the D.A.A.S. Between 1988 and 1993 Flacco appeared on Andrew Denton's ABC TV show 'Blah, Blah, Blah," and toured with the Doug Anthony Allstars. "Touring with the Doug Anthony Allstars made me realise what Ringo must have felt like".

Livingston gained a few nominations for best supporting actor in "The Navigator." 1994-1996 Livingston returned to Sydney. In Sydney, where he is currently living, he created the first draft for "The Dirt Bath" (which is now available to buy at book stores and ABC shops) he also worked for Triple J.

In 1995 he published "Flacco's Burnt Offerings" and in 1997 Flacco was given 'the marching orders' from Triple J.

Flacco slipped into retirement and disappeared from the public scene until... The Flacco Revival in 1998. "Dirt Bath" was published and Flacco was pushed back into the public spotlight. One of Flacco's best buddies 'The Sandman' made his first spot of regular appearances on ABC TV's Good News Weekend, until that ended in late August 1998. Flacco was a regular on Good News Week and GNW Nightlite, on Channel 10, until this folded in 2000.
