Colors of Autumn

See the canopy I spread over you
Young lovers on this autumn day
Showering you with burnt gold and amber
Attend the dry rustle of the scented air
That filters gently through my fingers.
Creating the music of nature
For all who are willing to listen.
Rejoice with me as I reach for the sky
Doing my part to create a little bit of heaven
On this delightful God-given day.

The Beach

The silkiness of sun-kissed skin
Lightly tanned in the tropical heat
The scent of salt in the clear air
The waves lapping at our feet.

Building castles in the hot sand
Chasing minnows in the shallow pool
Collecting shells with sandy hands
Splashing in the waves to get cool.

Lying on the warm sand side by side
Watching the sun sink into the sea
Hands entwined we watch the retreating tide
This is the only way life should be.

The heart is open
To the call of Love's words
That capture the soul

The touch of a child
Like the butterfly's soft wings
Brushes Mother's Soul.

The heart is broken
When the sound of hate is
Stabbed straight through the soul.

Shooting stars abound
Thousands riding on the wind
Snowflakes fill the air.

Thanks to Shandon McBride for the idea.

Falling

That headlong rush
Adrenaline racing through the body
Heart beating overtime
Your pulse racing wildly
Breath stolen from your lungs
Fingers clutching, tingling
Body shivering, hands sweating
Voice completely missing
Eyes teary, lips trembling
It is truly amazing
What falling in love does to you.

Integral

I sing to the azure skies
Of a love I now know
As a friendship this started
Now possessing my very soul.

Through the dark and lonely nights
Our hearts beat as one
The connection that exists
Means we are forever joined.

Though miles separate us
And circumstances keep us apart
My love will never waver
Now an integral part of my heart.

My Love

My true love
Is my friend
My confidant
My comfort
In bad times

My sweetheart
Brightens my day
With twinkling eyes
And a gentle smile
Just for me

With each caress
My heart reveals
The true depth
Of our love

Rose

Like the fragrant rose
My true love blooms more and more
With each passing day.

The Song of Life

The song of life
Is in every breath we take
Listen to its lilting notes
In the voices of out children
Feel the rhythm
In the heartbeat of a loved one
Savor the harmony
Produced by a friend's embrace
Ponder the solo
We sing through our actions
Let the lyrics of our song
Bring joy to those around us.
Delight in the symphony of life
It is a gift from above
Given with love
And such gifts
Should never be ignored.

Young Love

Eternity is the hope
For all young lovers

Enchantment fills the air
Wonder fills the heart

They dance to the tunes
Of rhapsodical splendor

Til age slows the steps
Of the sweethearts swift tread

The hope is still there
The rhapsody, the charm

Just slower, more relaxed
like a gentle summer rain

Together they remember
The magic of young love

The enchantments still there
In the home their hearts have made.
