Some Cadillac gems -- on a smaller scale
Cadillac's snappy '37 LaSalle convertible was chosen as the pace car for that year's Indianapolis 500 race. This beautifully detailed 1/43rd scale replica of that pace car was done by Mini Marque 43 in late 2002 just before the untimely passing of Richard Briggs (Mini Marque's proprietor). Very few of these pace cars were produced and even fewer of the 'civilian' version were made.
Fourth in a series of 1/43rd scale 1941 Cadillacs by Victory Models, this Series 61 Sedanette is their best effort so far. My example is done in Rivermist Gray over Dusty Gray with red wheels, a very typical '41 color combination. Victory's detail is remarkable, even including the Hydramatic shift quadrant on the steering column. The model is also available in Valcour Maroon or two-tone green.
The stately 1947 Fleetwood Series 75 limousine shown here was done by Conquest of Holland a few years ago. This very impressive 1/43rd scale hand built model is detailed to the max. The interior features a division window, jump seats, and an incredible dashboard. Also note the dual Cadillac spotlights. My model is finished in Gunmetal Gray. The model was also available in Antoinette Blue. This is an obsolete piece, as Conquest is no longer in business.
Elegance Models of France are among the finest of handbuilt 1/43rd scale resin models ever created. This Marlow Green over Lynton Green 1950 Fleetwood 60 Special is one of their earlier pieces. Production was extremely limited and their models are quite expensive.
This very impressive 1955 Fleetwood Series 75 Limousine in 1/43rd scale is by USA Models from Motor City. The Cobalt Blue finish would rival most restored show cars. The fully detailed interior features a division window and jump seats. It was also available in black and a 7-passenger sedan version was done in Deep Cherry. Unfortunately, the USA division of Motor City has been discontinued.
And everyone thought that no one ever did a '57 Series 62 Cadillac model. This 1/43rd scale convertible was created by Sam Miller of Miller's Miniatures. The resin model started out as Solido's '57 Eldorado Biarritz. Miller's generally offered their models as kits. However, some built ups were done. As far as I know, this could be the only model of a '57 Series 62 convertible.
