What can I tell you about myself?! Let's see. I'm a 32 year old male, never married, no kids, and I live in the Buckeye
state. I am a college graduate (Shawnee State University, 1993) with a degree in social science. I passed the Ohio state
social work licensing board exam in August of 1992 and worked in the social service field from that time until I relocated
back to Ohio, (from Orlando Florida) to help my mom take care of my dad when he was diagnosed with cancer. He passed
away February 20th, 1999 and I've remained in Ohio ever since.
I have not yet entered back into the field of Social Work, as I have aspirations of writing for a living and hope to
see that goal brought to fruition in 2001. I've written a novel (The Painmaker) and two anthologies of poetry
(Reflections of a Wayward Soul and Musings of a Common Man) and am in the tedious process of seeking publication.
While I have recieved favorable responses from my writing endeavors (particularly my novel) I'm still a rookie and
quite naive in knowing how to proceed which makes the task of getting published that much harder. I am making headway
however, as two of my poems will appear in publication in an anthology due out winter 2001 entitled
" Nature's Echoes" which is the latest collection published by the prestigious International Library of
Poetry (www.poetry.com) I was also selected as one of only 33 poets world-wide to be chosen to have their work included
on a cd by the same organization which will be out in the next couple of months.
My decision to write a book was born from a lifelong affinity for the written word as a voracious reader and admitted
"book addict". But besides reading, and obviously writing, my interests are diverse. Music is far and away my
greatest interest and love outside of literature. As you can tell by the page I am an avowed parrotthead 'til death.
The photos of my tattoo should give you an idea to how deep my allegiances to Jimmy and the phenomenon known as
"parrottheadism" run. Some of my other favorite artists include, Merle Haggard, Jackson Browne, Gordon
Lightfoot, Jim Croce, The Eagles, Van Halen (Diamond Dave years) The Doors, and Aerosmith. I could name a plethora of
others but the page is so big...lol (damn skippy lol!)
I was an athlete myself playing football, basketball, and baseball in high school and continued to play baseball at the
collegiate level. I try to stay somewhat active in my post athletic career and am not just an armchair quarterback.
I've won a few amateur raquetball tournaments and it's a great vehicle for staying in shape and having fun.
Well that is about all I can tell you in the space allotted but this is me in a nutshell. (What an apropos term for a
loco parrotthead). I hope I've not bored you to tears, but if so keep coming back for a medicative cure for your
insomnia!!! (lol) I really appreciate the fact that you spent time here at the page Corvetteangel2000, developed for me
and she did a great job and selflessly gave of her time and herself to build this site for me and I thank her so much.
That reminds me, check out Vette's page(her link is the shark Tigger) and Beti Ryan's WONDERFUL veterans tribute
page, as it is an honorable and touching tribute to our nations men and women who have served us so selflessly,
protecting and maintaining our freedoms all too often anonymously, never getting the recognition and respect deserved
them. Beti's page is devoted to seeing these dear soldiers get the treatment and attention that such heroes should be
afforded. There are also lighthearted links that will whisk you away to other sites such as my own Yahoo clubs for
Jimmy Buffett and Merle Haggard so be sure to click, click, click!
