FORGOTTEN
(to my wife, and to the Morrighan)

Forgotten are the days
of doubt and despair
Forgotten are the nights
of sleepless craving
Forgotten are the times
of hopeless searching
Forgotten is the life
that did not have you

Memory is long and bitter
and filled with paths ill-chosen
unhealed hurts and wounds
untold stories, unthought kindness

Forgotten, forgotten
all has disappeared
There is no room in me
for that memory
Forgotten is the cold
of lone dark searching
Forgotten is the path
save it led to you
