“Transfigure”

 

I was looking to the light with my eyes closed

The fear of being blinded was my shield

The fire deep inside wanting to outwardly burn

The love in my heart yearning to be free

Transfiguring the life I once knew

Destroying the evils that clouded my view

 

As I look in the mirror what do I see?

Is it you or is it just little old me?

 

If me then I see it’s time for a change

If me then it’s likely I need help up

If you then I’m standing as firm as I can

If you then I know I’ve gone the right way

 

Let it be you who decides why I do what I do

Make me humble and lead me in the ways of You

I look into my own eyes and search for your heart

If I can find it I know that I’m off to a good start

It’s time to transfigure to the face of Christ

And be like Jesus who for us was sacrificed
