“Freedom”

 

You’re death is the true emancipation proclamation

In your name we have been set free from oppression

We are no longer enslaved to the sin we once knew

There is pure freedom for all who know you

You freed us from the bondage that kept us down

And now we have a mediator to the crown

The bond we have with you makes all things right

As we rely on all of your power and might

Death has no power over us because of you

The limitations of a life with you are few

You made that statement strong at the top of the hill

That no matter what, you would do Our Father’s will

Now that you have released us from the chains

We can escape this world full of evil and pains

We can join you in the spirit knowing you are a spark

Giving a life of pure freedom from all that is dark

Your light shines through and destroys the prison

Frees us from bondage and restores our vision

We see the truth because you gave your life for ours

A truth so beautiful that it competes with the flowers

Thank you for dying and at the same time restoring life

Restoring lives of the ones who struggle with sin and strife

You truly are the Savior and you showed us you care

And one day you will return on a cloud through the air

To take us away to a place where life is restored

And God reigns over all as Our Father and our Lord
