“Dear Father”

 

Dear Father, you know why I am writing this letter

I know, I told you that I was going to get better

I am trying really hard, you have to believe me

I want to be your son, just as you made me to be

I bet you are tired of me turning away from you

And doing the things you don’t want me to do

You have to know that I want my actions to follow my heart

And my heart is with you knowing you will never depart

Please guide me with your spirit and lead me back home

To a heavenly pasture where I am free to roam

Let my life be a tool for your will to be done

Until the day you come back for me, my Lord, the Holy One

I surrender my life as the only offering I have to give

That you may take charge and show me how to live

I ask that my brothers and sisters multiply by the minute

I know your abounding love and mercy knows no limit

Together with you there is nothing I can’t do

So I humble myself and give my all to you
