At first Flying Squadron 32 operated with Fokker D.XXI fighters. In July 1941 squadron was equipped with 15 CU fighters bought from Germany. (Photo: Harri Anttonen)

Curtiss Hawk 75A-4 (CUc) fighter is being overhauled. Massive 9-cylinder Wright Cyclone radial engine is clearly visible like the four 7.5 mm FN-Browning MGs in the wings. Due to technical problems since autumn 1941 all Cyclones were replaced by14-cylinder Pratt & Whitney Twin Wasp twin radial engines which were inferior in performance but more reliable.
