chapter 16

-Where are you taking me? I asked Nick for the hundred time. He was driving the curvy roads with a admirable courage - and speed.
-You just wait, Im not gonna tell you.
-This is just unfair. First you come and drag me out of bed and then you wont tell me where were going.
-Youre gonna find it out, in about ten miles.
I gave up and sank to the complete silence. Well, okay, Nick was listening to some artist and singing with him. But anyway...

Then we got there. And I was stunned. The turquoise sea was spreading in front of my eyes and the wind made hotness of the morning little more comfortable.
-Wow, was all I could said.
-I thought youd like it here, Nick said and parked his car.
I opened my safety belt.
-What are we doing here?
-Dont be so impatience.
-Tells me the guy who cant wait at all.
But Nick was already getting out of the car and I had no chance to follow him.

-Hey fellows! Hows the weather?
-Great, someone answered.
And then I saw the yacht and the men in it. Howie and AJ were also there.
-So we can go really out?
-Nick, you know you shouldnt dive that far, Howie reminded.
-But Anna needs to see the sea, Nick appealed. -Lets get aboard!
He offered his hand to me and helped me up. I wouldnt have needed that much help, you believe it wasnt some jolly...
As soon as we were on board we left the shore and soon I was looking how the ground got smaller and smaller.

-Sure youre not afraid?
AJ was standing next to me but I couldnt look at him because the wind blew all my hair to my face and sun was getting into my eyes.
-No, Im not. Its great to be here. I just may have a wrong outfit, so if youll excuse me Ill go change and put some tanning milk on me. Or do you want to help?
It was meant like a joke but AJ didnt answer.
-Maybe later, he said and walked away.
I noticed that Howie was looking up at us from the lower deck. I waved at him and went to the cabin to take most of my clothes off.

AJ hadnt answered my last message, I remembered when lying on the deck. Guys were all on the lower deck, fussing about something. We had been out on the sea about an hour and so far I was let alone to sunbathe. That was nice because my bikinis had seen their better days already.

-OK, guys, hes going under! someone yelled.
I lifted my head to see what was going on. They were just putting Nick into the sea so he could dive.
AJ and Howie were just standing there, other two guys, Chris and Ralph were helping Nick out.
-Just keep the boat steady! Chris shouted at the captain, Tom.
-I know what Im doing! Tom replied.
Chris looked little doubtful but I believed Tom so I went back to my fantasies. But I had lost my track of it. I rolled to my back. Then someone blocked the sun from me. AJ was standing in front of it.
-Hey, what are you doing?
-You better watch yourself so you dont get burn.
-Im OK. How long is he going to be there?
-About twenty minutes.
-Not that longer?
-No, its safer this way.
-I understand. So how have you been lately?
-The usual.
He obviously avoided my question. And I didnt ask more. He did.
-So you got your tanning milk on already?
-Yes I do.
-Let me know if you need addition.
And then he was gone again.
