chapter 10

My nights were awful. I have always considered me as well sleeping individual. There are two things I can do no matter what, eat and sleep. But now... I kept waking up in the middle of the night humming the melody I couldn�t recognize. It got easier when three days after the party Brian brought me the CD I had ordered from Finland. But there was no n0ote from AJ, not even a song. I thought that he had really got upset about my last one. So all day long I was sitting in the music room listening that CD and typing the story. I only typed it because I seemed to have some kind of block. And it wasn�t any easier when all the Boys kept asking me new chapters.

My mind torn every word apart when I tried to make sense of all what Brian, Howie and Kevin had said. And constantly I remembered some two words AJ had said. Totally irrational. So I had one more chance. Nick.
I knew it was pretty hopeless call but I had to try. So one afternoon I found myself watching him playing PS.
-See, now if I jump... Score!
I stared the screen and couldn�t understand anything.
-How�s Maddy doing?
-Fine, I think. I haven�t called her in few days.
-You what?
-We�ve been busy, remember? And anyway, we made a deal about being free to meet other people.
-So it�s over?
-I didn�t say so, did I?
I gave up with him. But the Boys had been busy lately. I didn�t know what they were up to, all the information I got was from the same source that other�s, TV and magazines. Sometimes I had asked AJ something about their stuff but he never told me anything so I didn�t want to bother Brian or anyone with things like that. It was easier less I knew.
-There was actually something I wanted to ask you.
-Aha. What�s that?
-Why I went home with AJ?
-Wow... Wait! Shit. Well, I have three more lives. What was it again?
-Why I left from the dance studio with AJ?
-It just happened.
-Yeah, I know that. But how?
-He just came in and said: �I�ll take her home�. Everyone were amazed but no one needed to fight against him.
-�I�ll take her home�?
-I don�t remember exactly. But he was very determined.
-Why? He hates me?
-It�s refreshing sometimes to have someone who doesn�t agree with you all the time.
-And that�s me?
-You can be such a pain in the ass. I mean if you want to.
-Gee, thanks!
-AJ has always had a weird taste with women.
-Like you haven�t. And I�m not his woman.
-You could be.
-No.
-Yeah.
-No.
-Sure.
-Why?
-Because.
-Because of what?
-Because he took you home.
-So I would have to go in bed with him and then feel like a whore?
-Well, AJ doesn�t have anything against them either.
-What the hell are you talking about?
-Nothing. Could you pass me some Coke?
-No I can�t �til you explain me what you mean.
-Listen Anna. Don�t think too much about it. Just enjoy your time in here because we�ll be touring again and then you have to leave too.
-I know.
-I know you do. Want to play?
-No. I don�t know the rules.
