Next Chapter Day 3 - Part 20 MAKING THE VIDEO: Backstreet Boys' Incomplete This is Howie, Nick, AJ, Brian and Kevin. "And we are the Backstreet Boys." View outside the house. NICK: We're about to shoot our next video. BRIAN: It's called Incomplete. AJ: It's a love song HOWIE: but not that traditional KEVIN: It's quite sad. That's why I love it.
8.12 am Nick by the pool. Staff going around. NICK: It's 8 am and I'm still far asleep. Right now they're doing setups in the house. We should start in half an hour. I'm on turn after lunch, I think. Shots from inside, people at work, some pictures of Carlos Garcia. BRIAN: I've heard he's amazing. Carlos cursing about something. KEVIN: Has a lot of temper. Carlos yelling to his assistant. AJ: But he's good. Carlos walking out of the room pissed off. HOWIE: He'd better be brilliant. Back at the pool with Nick. NICK: It's not traditional love song. Name tells it already. It's called Incomplete. It's written most by AJ and Brian during our last tour in USA. "As the sun sets behind the treadmill, I stumble down to my loneliness." I know that feeling. I guess we all do. Kevin sitting in the staircase, having his hair done at the same time. KEVIN: Most important thing about it are these words: "Even with you I'm incomplete". People don't get that right away. They look for perfect match, search similarity, something to complete you. But that doesn't happen. People are not perfect. AJ running around in a large room, then suddenly stopping, looking at the camera. AJ: "Please give me guidance not to miss my chance." Carlos in a dark room, light coming back of him, giving some mysterious feeling. CARLOS: It's big for these guys. They have to do this. They have to proof they're worth of what they've achieved. And with me it's no problemo. I'm good. I'm genious. Carlos looks straight into camera. CARLOS: Don't take me so seriously. 8.37 am Shot of guys intensively listening Carlos' instructions. CARLOS: We'll start with the latin lover. Howie lying on the ground. CARLOS: Each boy represents of different time of year or element. Howie is fall, earth, warmness, at the same time he's getting ready for death over his love. Brian is spring, airy, very light, early crush, flirt. Nick is virginal, seductive, water. AJ, man, fire, sin, heat of the summer nights. And Kevin. He's winter, cold, ice, end. 8.53 am Howie sings his part over and over again Carlos not being happy with what he does. Howie gets annoyed, Brian on the other side of the room seems terrified. Other boys are not around. 10.08 am Finally Carlos makes up his mind and calls it a wrap. Howie is tired, exhausted, hugging Brian, still smiling to camera. HOWIE: I made it. I'm still alive. Can you believe that? CARLOS: Twenty minutes, Brian you are next, up you go! Brian shrugs to the camera and they leave the room. 10.40 am Zoom in as Brian sits on the roof. BRIAN: Ever told you I'm afraid of heights? Carlos is yelling something from far below. BRIAN: WHAT? I CAN'T HEAR YOU? Which is nice, for a while. Carlos gets a loud speaker. CARLOS: JUST SING! BRIAN: That's what I do best. Shots as camera flies over him, just sitting there under the great blue sky. 11.28 CARLOS: OK, it's a lunch time! BRIAN: How do I get off here? COMMERCIALS
